AUDUBON MISSOURI

Position Summary

Audubon seeks an Executive Director to build on Audubon Missouri’s rich history and expand its contributions to conservation in Missouri and the Mississippi Flyway, leading the organization to its next level of programmatic and financial success. This is a high‐profile, pivotal opportunity for a dynamic conservation professional to be an environmental entrepreneur in representing Audubon’s mission. With an annual budget of $1 million, a staff of nine (9) and two community‐based Audubon Centers, Audubon Missouri uses its statewide conservation initiatives, educational programming, 11 affiliated local Audubon Chapters, and more than 6,500 grassroots members to protect birds and their habitats.

The successful candidate will have the passion, leadership skills and fundraising experience necessary to articulate, develop, and implement Audubon’s conservation goals and strategies in the state. While working closely with the Audubon Missouri boards and staff, and the Vice President of the Mississippi Flyway, the Director will continue to develop the state program in tandem with strategic regional and national priorities.

The Executive Director will hold the title of Vice President within the national organization and will report to the VP Mississippi Flyway. S/he will also serve as the Center Director for the Audubon Center at Riverlands, ensuring the Center's continued growth, effectiveness and integration into statewide activities. The position will also supervise the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center Director and staff in Joplin, Missouri.
