St. Louis Chapter Battles Invasive Plants
Restoring Native Landscapes for Wildlife and People
St. Louis County Parks & St. Louis Audubon (with support from an Audubon/Toyota TogetherGreen grant) teamed up at Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park for a bush honeysuckle removal workday on November 13, 2010. 30 volunteers cleared ~1 acre during the morning project and sprayed the stumps with herbicide to prevent resprouting. The project begins a long-term effort to eliminate the attractive, but very destructive, invasive plant from the Park.
